Top tips for cute cuticles…

When it comes to the perfect manicure, the best way to nail it is to have the cutest cuticles in town! Here at Bluesky we value our customer’s cuticles more than anything so we want to share with you the best way to maintain those nails and everything in between.

Here are our top tips for the cutest cuticles:

How often should I push back my cuticles?

To keep your nails looking and feeling longer and healthier, remember to push back your cuticles every 4-7 days. Before pushing back your cuticles however, be sure to soak your hands in warm soapy water to soften the skin to make it easier to maintain them. When pushing back your cuticles, be sure to use a cuticle stick and use the side to push the skin back.

Remember to NEVER cut your cuticles!!

Your cuticles are part of you so don’t cut them out of your life. When you cut or remove the cuticle, it breaks that seal of protection, leaving you open to collect bacteria and even the possibility of infection. The better you are at leaving cuticles alone, the more your nails will thank you by looking extra pretty.

How often should I apply cuticle oil?

To maintain healthy cuticles and strong nails it's always best to apply cuticle oil every night to keep your nails and cuticles nourished and protected against drying out and splitting. Also keep your cuticles nourished by using cuticle oil once you've showered. Using oil on your cuticles every day will smooth and restore them.

Should I apply cuticle oil before or after gel application?

Although we say to keep your cuticles nourished with every day applications, we do recommend that when you finally decide to slay your nail design, to apply the cuticle oil after you have applied your gels. If you apply cuticle oil before this will mean that the gels have more of a chance of lifting and will not set properly.
